Mellon Buys Florida Asset Manager

Mellon Bank Corp., Pittsburgh, said Tuesday it has completed its acquisition of Ganz Capital Management Inc., Aventura, Fla. Ganz, which manages $400 million of assets, is now part of Mellon Private Asset Management, which manages $30 billion. The deal was unveiled Jan. 20.

The firm's founder, Charles B. Ganz, was named chief investment strategist for the asset management unit in Florida. Also on Tuesday, Mellon announced it has obtained a national charter for Mellon Trust of Florida, Aventura.
