Mellon trust office opens in Philadelphia.

PITTSBURGH -- Mellon Bank Corp. said it had established a corporate trust office in Philadelphia to serve the city and the rest of eastern Pennsylvania.

The office is managed by Joseph Progar, 36, formerly of the corporate trust office at Mellon's Pittsburgh headquarters. He will manage five sales and administration people.

The office will increase convenience for eastern Pennsylvania clients, said Daryl Zupan, first vice president and head of Mellon's corporate trust area. The bank has more than 2,400 corporate trust accounts and is trustee for more than $20 billion in outstanding debt.
