WASHINGTON — Merrill Lynch & Co. disclosed Tuesday that it has named Jeffrey N. Edwards as its new financial chief, replacing Ahmass L. Fakahany, who will serve as the company's vice chairman and chief administrative officer.
The securities firm said in a document filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission that Edwards will report to Fakahany.
In this new capacity, Fakahany assumes expanded responsibilities across the firm, encompassing the chief financial office, global operations & infrastructure services, global services, global technology and human resources.
Fakahany currently serves as executive vice president and financial chief at Merrill Lynch and has held this position since November 2002.
Edwards presently serves as senior vice president and head of investment banking for the Americas region, a position he has held since September 2004.
Both individuals will assume their new positions beginning Thursday, the filing said.
