The Washington prepaid card marketer MiCash Inc. has started offering a product that can be used to initiate international remittances.
The card can be used to transfer funds to prepaid cards or bank accounts and lets people receive cash at more than 12,000 Bancomer Transfer Services stores in several countries, MiCash said Thursday.
"This unique money remittance service provides immigrants with an affordable, safe, and convenient way to send money to family in another country," Daniel Levinas, MiCash's president and chief executive, said in a press release.
MiCash charges $2 to transfer money to a linked prepaid card and $8.95 to send cash or to make transfers to a bank account.
