Michael A. McManus Jr.

Michael A. McManus Jr. has become president and chief executive of New York Bancorp, Douglaston, parent of Home Federal Savings Bank.

He succeeded Martin D. Dehler, who resigned those posts and the chairmanship in September and is returning to private law practice.

Mr. McManus, a board member, has been advising U.S. and foreign companies in strategic planning, business development, and acquisitions. Mr. McManus' immediate position before coming to New York Bancorp was as president of Jamcor Pharmaceuticals, New York.

He has also been a vice president at Pfizer Inc., and executive vice president of Revlon Group. He was an aide to President Reagan in 1982-85.
