Mint Software Gets Funding of $12M

Mint Software Inc., which operates a money management Web site, has received $12 million in new funding.

The Mountain View, Calif., company said Wednesday that the Series B round was led by the venture capital firm Benchmark Capital of Menlo Park, Calif., and that its earlier investors also participated in the round.

Mint's site lets people track their spending and recommends financial products that could save money or offer other advantages.

"We've demonstrated that our free, simple and powerful money management web service can gain rapid acceptance and deliver real value — nearly half of our users tell us that they've already changed their financial behavior," Aaron Patzer, Mint's founder and chief executive, said in a press release.
