MoneyGram Lands Saudi Arabia Deal

National Commercial Bank in Saudi Arabia has agreed to offer international remittance services from MoneyGram International Inc. through the bank's automated teller machines.

MoneyGram said that by offering its services through National Commercial's 1,400 ATMs, it will be able to establish a transfer network 10 times larger than any other in Saudi Arabia. The Minneapolis remittance company said National Commercial is the largest banking company in the Middle East.

Anthony Ryan, MoneyGram's president and chief executive, said in a press release Tuesday that "Saudi Arabia is the second-largest send market in the world behind the United States, and our alliance with a premier financial institution like National Commercial Bank represents a significant opportunity."
