ATLANTA - NationsBank Corp. said it would invest about $1.5 million to build two bank branches on Atlanta's south side and would sell two existing locations there to a group of minority businessmen.
The buyer of NationsBank's West End and Cascade Road branches, Capitol City Bank, is headed by George Andrews, who is seeking capital from investors and approval from the state to open a new bank.
The new offices will bring the bank's resources "closer to the emerging residential and commercial activities in these neighborhoods," said Dave Bair, a NationsBank executive vice president.
