NYSE Euronext Hires Peter Leukert as Global CIO

NYSE Euronext (NYX), the stock exchange and technology provider, today announced it has recruited Peter Leukert to be its Global Chief Information Officer, effective immediately. Leukert will lead NYSE Euronext's global Information Technology operations and will report to President and Deputy CEO Dominique Cerutti.

As global CIO, Leukert will bring his experience to the continued transformation of NYSE Euronext and its IT operating model.

Since 2007, Mr. Leukert has been CIO of Commerzbank, in charge of all applications and IT infrastructure, including a technology group comprising 3,800 employees. Prior to that, he worked for McKinsey since 1994, as a partner since 2001. There he led the development and implementation of IT strategies and projects at major financial organizations and government agencies.

"Peter's success in creating and operating financial systems on a global scale makes him the ideal choice to advance our worldwide technology platform and organization," said Cerutti in a statememt. "Peter brings an in-depth understanding of the technologies that drive today's markets as well as keen insight into how best to meet the dynamic needs of our customer community going forward."

"NYSE Euronext is at the epicenter of global finance, which makes this a tremendously exciting opportunity," Leukert said in a statement. "I have made a career of learning how to create and operate solutions for highly complex and mission-critical issues and challenges, and I look forward to employing those learnings in the world's greatest financial arena."
