The Redwood City, Calif., mobile payment provider Obopay Inc. has started offering its service into India.

Consumers there who sign up for the service at Yes Bank Ltd. of Mumbai can transfer money from Yes accounts by entering instructions into their mobile phones, Obopay said last week.
This is Obopay's first foray outside the United States. Customers here can initiate transfers to and from prepaid accounts using mobile phones. Obopay said this month that it can also route transfers to and from any U.S. bank account.
