The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency has named Stephen Warren chief information officer.

Warren succeeds Ed Dorris, who left the agency in March to oversee information-technology strategy and operations at the National Credit Union Association. Warren starts the new job on Sept. 6.

Warren was previously CIO at the Department of Veteran Affairs, the Federal Trade Commission and the Department of Energy's Office of Environmental Management. He has more than 15 years of experience as a CIO or a senior technology official.

Also on Thursday, the OCC named its first chief risk officer, to lead its office of enterprise risk management.
