Ocean Bank in Fla. Buys Naming Rights for Football Stadium

Ocean Bank in Miami has signed a three-year agreement to put its name at the top of Florida International University's football stadium.

The stadium, also in Miami, will be known as "Ocean Bank Field at FIU Stadium." No information was provided about the financial terms of the deal.

"Since our founding in 1982, we have grown alongside FIU and supported its development into a major research university and one of the largest in the nation," A. Alfonso Macedo, the bank's chairman, said in a press release Wednesday.

Ocean Bank has $3.3 billion in assets.

Florida International has more than 50,000 students; its Conference USA football team, the Panthers, was 1-11 last year and kicks off the new season Aug. 30 at home.
