Glass City Federal Credit Union has agreed to use instant card-issuing technology from Dynamic Card Solutions LLC to create debit cards.
The Englewood, Colo., vendor said Monday that Glass City Federal plans this year to begin using its CardWizard software and its Datacard embossing systems at four branches in northwest Ohio.
The technology enables financial companies to produce new and replacement cards on-site instead of having them made elsewhere and mailed to customers. Dynamic Card Solutions, a unit of Dynamic Solutions International, has said that giving customers their cards immediately makes them more likely to use them.
"We recognized that instant issuance was a way for us to service our members in a convenient way that would increase the customer experience and maximize member loyalty," Mark Slates, the Maumee, Ohio, credit union's president, said in a Dynamic Card Solutions press release. "Allowing the member to use their card immediately increases activation rates, and it is our hope that it will then become the choice card in our member's wallet."
Dynamic Card Solutions said Glass City will be its first instant-issuing customer in Ohio.
