Online Resources Adds 40 Utility Clients

Online Resources Corp. said it has signed up more than 40 utilities for its bill payment services in the past six months.

Seven of these signed on to offer services that let customers pay bills online, by e-mail and by phone. Others are using electronic lockbox services for reconciliation of remittances and posting of accounts receivable, Online Resources said last week.

"Utilities are increasingly looking to Online Resources' suite of electronic billing, payment and receivables solutions designed to meet the varied payment preferences of their customers," Robert R. Craig, its executive vice president of e-commerce services, said in a press release. These services "further drive online enrollment, move customers from paper to electronic billing and offer additional options such as text and iPhone apps," Craig said.
