Pacific Financial in Washington Hires Bank CFO

Pacific Financial (PFLC) in Aberdeen, Wash., has hired a chief financial officer for its bank.

Douglas Biddle has succeeded Denise Portmann as CFO at Bank of the Pacific, the $705 million-asset company said in a press release Thursday. Biddle also replaced Portmann and the company's treasurer.

Portmann was recently selected to become president and chief executive at Bank of the Pacific.

Biddle has held senior posts at a number of West Coast banks. He previously served as CFO of PremierWest Bancorp (PRWT) in Medford, Ore., which was acquired by Starbuck Bancshares in April 2013. He spent 20 years at Plumas Bancorp (PLBC) in Quincy, Calif., where he was president and chief executive from 2005 to 2010.

Biddle is also a former bank examiner with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.

"With over 30 years of executive banking experience, [Biddle] brings a track record of success in the industry and a unique blend of strategic financial skills," Pacific Financial President and CEO Dennis Long said in the release. "His proven leadership and stellar reputation in the banking community will provide a strong complement to our executive team."
