A provider of websites that enable financial firms to bring together information internally to create portals, such as employee intranets and board and vendor management portals, is improving the search capability of its products.
Passageways, based in in West Lafayette, Ind., has added to its platform software from dtSearch, a Bethesda, Md.-based maker of systems that enables users to comb through terabytes of text across databases quickly, the companies said Friday.
"This implementation increases the effectiveness of these solutions ten-fold by enabling users to quickly find documents within the portal," Tim Randall, product manager at Passageways, said in a news release.
The dtSearch system supports searches across varied types of files, including emails, documents, spreadsheets and presentations. The capability also spans Windows, Linux, Java, and other computing platforms and languages.
