Roundup: Keycorp Closes Purchase of Bank of Vermont

CLEVELAND - Keycorp said it had completed its acquisition of Bank of Vermont, Burlington, from Bank of Boston Corp.

Bank of Vermont, with nearly $680 million of assets and 12 offices, has been renamed Key Bank of Vermont.

The deal was announced in June.

The acquisition gives Keycorp entry to Vermont and adds to its upstate New York presence.

Keycorp is also buying Bank of Boston's Maine affiliate, Casco Northern Bank. That transaction is expected to close in February.
