S&P: Commercial Ratings May Drop

Standard & Poor's Corp. said Tuesday that it may cut the ratings on $96.6 billion of commercial mortgage-backed debt.

The New York rating company cited "our preliminary re-evaluation of all the loans in the identified transactions."

S&P had said Monday that all levels of commercial mortgage-backed bonds may face rating reductions as real estate prices fall and property owners struggle to refinance debt.
