Salesforce.com Inc., a San Francisco provider of hosted customer relationship management technology, is using authentication software from Arcot Systems Inc. of Sunnyvale, Calif., in its software distribution system.
Arcot said Monday that Salesforce.com has installed the A-OK On-Demand application to safeguard access to the Salesforce.com AppExchange system.
A-OK uses a unique software credential to authenticate people, allowing them to use the same password to access multiple applications. Clients pay a dollar a month per user.
Clarence So, Salesforce.com's chief marketing officer, said in an Arcot press release that the software will give his customers the convenience of a single login with something stronger than passwords.
