Santander to Use Talent Analytics to Recruit Software Engineers

Santander Consumer USA announced Wednesday a partnership with predictive talent analytics firm PeopleAnswers to guide its hiring decisions.

The Banco Santander unit will initially use the technology to select and hire software engineers who will be tasked to develop Santander's back office and client facing applications.

"In our fast-paced business, using science to help bring qualified employees on board who also fit into our culture and will stay with the company is a competitive differentiator," said Michelle Whatley, chief human resources officer, Santander Consumer USA, in a press release.

Banks, like most companies, struggle to court developers. In recent months, some large banks have enhanced her career websites, added video to their job descriptions, hosted coding competitions and used social networks and startup services to recruit most-wanted talent.
