Scottrade Rolls Out Mobile Service

The online brokerage Scottrade Inc. is offering a new service that enables customers to trade stocks and manage their portfolios through their mobile phones.

The St. Louis company's Scottrade Mobile, announced Wednesday, uses the Internet browser feature that is included in many wireless handsets to manage accounts and trade online.

People need not download a specialized application.

Customers can view account information, including the balances within their portfolios, order status and positions, and can trade stocks and exchange-traded funds with market, limit, stop, stop limit and trailing stop orders.

They also can trade options with market, limit, stop and stop limit orders using the mobile trading site, the company said.

Scottrade's mobile site also offers real-time research, news and information from several sources.
