Shawn Maher is stepping down as the Senate Banking Committee's staff director to become the deputy director of Senate legislative affairs for the Obama administration.
He has worked as an aide to Senate Banking Committee Chairman Chris Dodd for nearly 14 years.
Before becoming the staff director when the Connecticut Democrat won the committee gavel in the 2006 elections, Mr. Maher served as a legislative director and counsel to Sen. Dodd.
The committee has not announced a successor for Mr. Maher.
