Simple Launches Goals Program

Simple (formerly BankSimple) pulled the curtain off its Goals tool this week. The dashboard gives users a view of their finances, helping them save cash for upcoming purchases.

"Goals lets you sock money away for whatever you need, when you need it," said the company in a blog post. "Whether you're envelope budgeting [a way of always having enough money to cover expected expenses] or saving for a big-ticket item, Goals can help. It's a flexible tool for organizing your money and planning for the future."

The branchless bank is still only beta-testing its software, which sits as a buffer between the technology company and a customer's cash, which is held by the Bancorp Bank.

Last month, Simple's chief executive Josh Reich says about 125,000 have requested accounts.
