Barbara D. Cano has left Giesecke & Devrient America Inc., the German smart card company's U.S. subsidiary, to join the Electronic Funds Transfer Association.
As senior director of marketing and programming, Ms. Cano will be responsible for membership development, communications, public and industry relations, and conferences and workshops.
She has held several marketing posts in the banking industry. Before becoming marketing manager at Giesecke & Devrient, she worked for the Most and Gulfnet electronic funds transfer networks.
H. Kurt Helwig, EFT Association executive director, said Ms. Cano's experience "will be a valuable asset" as the organization enhances its programming to "increase the overall value to members."
