Standard Bank Group Ltd., one of South Africa's largest banks, has agreed to use core banking software from Misys PLC.
The London vendor said Monday that Standard Bank would be the first company to implement the BankFusion Universal Banking application.
Standard Bank plans to install the software first in its Zimbabwe operations to support consumer and business accounts.
Misys said the BankFusion platform was designed to support a variety of financial services, including core account processing, consumer lending, payments, foreign currency transactions, and general ledger functions.
The software uses service-oriented architecture to let users implement different modules as needed, Misys said.
