Target Stores accepting ATM cards.

Minneapolis-based Target Stores, which says' it is California's largest retailer, announced that customers throughout that state and Nevada now can use automated teller machine cards at Target checkout counters.

Interlink, Explore, and Maestro, which comprise 90% of the point of sale capable cards in California and Nevada, are among the networks accepted at Target.

During October, Target will distribute 5.5 million coupons for $1 off any Target purchase to Bank of America checking account customers in these states who use their ATM cards at the checkout counter.

In November, Target will offer the same savings to 2.5 million Wells Fargo customers.

On Sunday, Oct. 2, Target will announce the new payment option in all of its newspaper circular mailers. B of A customers will receive a coupon for $1 off their next purchase in their next checking-account statement.
