Alltel Corp. has signed a $115 million contract to run BancWest Corp.'s core account processing at a Honolulu data center. The banking company's three data centers are to be consolidated.
The Honolulu company's 127 data center employees are to be transferred to the Alltel Information Services division.
Walter A. Dods Jr., chairman and chief executive officer of BancWest, said it expects to save more than $60 million over the life of the contract, other terms of which were not disclosed.
BancWest, the $16.3 billion-asset holding company for Bank of the West, First Hawaiian Bank, and Sierra West Bancorp, expects to convert all its systems to Alltel by mid-2000.
