Billserv.com Inc., an electronic bill presentment and payment service bureau, has agreed to deliver the bills of its corporate clients to Transpoint's bill presentment site.
Transpoint, a joint venture of Microsoft Corp., First Data Corp., and Citigroup Inc., consolidates electronic bills and plans to present them to consumers at various Web sites. A Transpoint competitor, Checkfree Holdings Corp. of Norcross, Ga., already has a distribution agreement with Billserv.com.
"Billers no longer have to build different interfaces to both Transpoint and Checkfree to have full distribution to their customers," said Michael Long, chief executive officer and chairman of Billserv.com.
Billserv.com provides bill presentment and payment to small and midsize companies that lack the resources to build in-house electronic billing capabilities.
The Transpoint deal will connect Billserv.com's corporate customers with retail customers of financial institutions that have pilot relationships with Transpoint.
Billserv.com also announced an agreement to have InfoSpace.com provide financial news and information to bills.com, Billserv's consumer bill viewing and payment Web site.
