Inference Corp. is shipping a new version of its customer service response software.

K-Commerce Support aims to replicate the ability of expert customer service representatives to resolve problems in a conversational way and maintain consistent service levels via e-mail, interactive voice response, the Internet, or other channels.

"One of our goals is to replicate really top-notch service and support from the best person in your department," said Nobby Akiha, vice president of marketing. "There is a level of hand-holding and problem-solving to replicate that service in the call center, on the Web, with chat, and voice response."
