William E. Donahoo, a seven-year veteran of Novell Inc. and a former Digicash Inc. executive, has been named marketing vice president of Cybersource Corp.

Cybersource, which provides Internet merchant support and payment services, said it experienced a "banner year" and brought in Mr. Donahoo as part of an effort to prepare for a new growth phase, said president and chief executive officer Bill McKiernan.

Mr. Donahoo until recently was vice president of marketing and business development for Digicash, the micropayments pioneer that filed for bankruptcy protection in 1998.

A founder of Novonyx, he developed the market for Netscape Intranet Servers on Novell's Netware platform and held several key positions at Novell, including marketing vice president for the Netware division.
