Tech Bytes: Dow, Reuters in Internet Delivery Venture

Dow Jones & Co. and the Reuters Group PLC have formed a joint venture to provide proprietary and third-party business information through the Internet.

Dow Jones Reuters Business Interactive LLC, is expected to begin operation within a year. It will be owned equally by Reuters and Dow Jones, with a board of directors comprising representatives from the two companies.

Dow Jones Interactive, formerly known as Dow Jones News/Retrieval, provides archival material from The Wall Street Journal, Dow Jones Newswires, and more than 6,000 other publications. It is available on more than 650,000 desktops around the world.

Reuters Business Briefing delivers a data base of over 4,000 sources, including newspapers, news wires, trade journals, magazines and archived Reuters news wires, to more than 6,000 corporations and financial institutions.
