First Union Corp. has signed a 10-year service agreement with Wang Global valued at $220 million.
The contract expands upon an agreement under which Wang Global provides maintenance and help-desk services and helps First Union install servers and manage projects.
Wang Global will now also be responsible for desktop software, servers and routers, procurement, network installation, and maintenance of software standards.
First Union will use Wang Global's NetWorkPlace services for networked computing.
First Union corporate technology officer Thomas Fogarty, called the expanded agreement "a natural progression of our working relationship." The pact "will also enhance our operating efficiency and productivity," he said.
