Tech bytes: IBM Veteran Joins Technology Consultancy

FAIRFAX, Va. - American Management Systems Inc., one of the leading providers of technology consulting services to financial institutions, has hired L. Richard Squitieri as a vice president.

Mr. Squitieri had previously spent 30 years with International Business Machines Corp. and its outsourcing unit, Integrated Systems Solutions Corp.

His sales experience at IBM will help him in his new position, in which he will develop strategic alliances and seek new relationships with financial institutions.

Mr. Squitieri also participated in IBM's shift of focus from hardware to software and services. As a director of retail banking services at Integrated Systems Solutions, he developed niche service segments such as core systems reengineering and conversion assistance.

The finance industry generates over 20% of American Management Systems' revenues and is one of its fastest growing business segments. The company specializes in consulting and application development in the areas of investment management, corporate risk, and customer relationship management.

The company's client list includes 35 of the top 50 banks, and its annual revenue is close to $400 million.
