NCR Corp. is augmenting its data warehousing and consulting services through an agreement with Quadstone, the Edinburgh- based developer of Decisionhouse, a suite of tools for accessing, displaying, and modeling data.
Decisionhouse becomes part of NCR's propensity modeling offering, complementing other services from its customer management solutions group.
Propensity modeling helps banks predict customer behavior, such as their likelihood to default on a loan, buy a certain service or product, or defect to a rival bank.
NCR clients can "get fast analysis of their entire customer base delivered across the entire organization, whenever and wherever it is needed," said Rod Bryan, NCR's vice president for customer management solutions. "By having the right knowledge about what a consumer is likely to do next, a bank can be proactive in its approach to them and so gain the edge on the opposition."
Barclays Bank in the United Kingdom is using NCR's propensity modeling.
