Tech Bytes: Private Placement Nets Software Maker $13M

Daleen Technologies Inc., a developer of billing and customer service software for the telecommunications industry, said it has obtained $13.5 million in a private placement of convertible preferred stock with Science Applications International Corp.

Daleen said the proceeds will go toward expansion of sales and marketing, product development, and implementation services.

Science Applications owns the banking software company Broadway & Seymour and in June it agreed to buy Boeing Information Services from the Boeing Co. Daleen distributes BillPlex through Cap Gemini, Danet, Integris- Groupe Bull, Unisys, and other systems integrators.
