Tech Bytes: Software Firm Getting A Web Site Designer

Homecom Communications Inc., an Internet software provider to banks and other financial companies, said it is buying Ganymede Corp. of Chicago, a provider of Web site design and development.

The deal, to be completed this month, is intended to increase Homecom's market presence in the Midwest and to introduce Ganymede services to a broader market. Homecom said it plans to expand aggressively in Chicago.

Ganymede clients include ABN Amro, the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, and Chicago Board of Trade.
