commerce company Rowecom, will become chief executive officer of Open Solutions Inc. on Monday.

He is succeeding Douglas K. Anderson, who will continue as chairman. Open Solutions said Mr. Hernandez was instrumental at Rowecom in forming alliances with the Sun-Netscape Alliance, Barnesandnoble.com, and Ariba Inc., as well as in raising more than $100 million in capital as the company grew to an estimated $300 million of revenue for 1999.

Open Solutions is a developer of client/server data processing software for community banks and credit unions. More than 125 financial institutions use its enterprisewide core system software both in-house and in service bureau environments.
