Tech Bytes: Vertigo to Use 'Push'In Planning Software

Vertigo Development Group Inc. said the newest version of its financial planning software will incorporate "push" technology.

The company's One-on-One product will pull financial information from the Internet and tailor it to the needs and habits of individual users.

Nick C. Gaehde, a senior product manager at Vertigo, said banks are looking to move beyond providing financial transactions over the Internet. "The way to cement the relationship with the consumer is to add advice," he said.

The One-on-One Ticker will let financial institutions communicate information on a wide range of banking and investment products, said Michael Fitzgerald, senior vice president of Salem (Mass.) Five Cents Savings Bank, one of a handful of institutions testing the software.
