Tech Bytes: Zions Certificate Unit To Use Valicert System

Valicert Inc. said its validation technology for digital certificates will be incorporated in the security architecture of Digital Signature Trust Co.

Digital Signature Trust, an affiliate of Zions Bancorp. of Salt Lake City, also agreed to sell Valicert products.

"Our repository services are the central point of trust for our customers," said Scott Lowry, president and chief executive officer of DST, which markets a range of public key infrastructure, or PKI, services to banks and others with data security needs. "We have chosen to partner with Valicert, the leader in certificate validation solutions, to enhance our repository services."

The addition of Valicert technology could also "increase interoperability and improve the performance of our repository certificate validation queries," Mr. Lowry said.

Valicert CEO Yosi Amram said Valicert "is in a unique position to deliver the flexibility DST requires across a range of PKI platforms. Our leadership in high-performance validation solutions makes Valicert a significant complement to DST's large-scale CA services."
