TSYS to Consolidate Service Operations
The transaction processor Total System Services Inc. said Monday that it plans to combine the customer service operations of several subsidiaries into one entity.
The new business, TSYS Managed Services, would replace the customer service segments of Vital Processing Services, ESC Loyalty, TSYS Prepaid, TSYS Europe, and TSYS Business Process Management.
David Figgat, formerly Vital's executive vice president of merchant services, was named to head the consolidated group. He will report to William A. Pruett, the senior executive vice president for client services at TSYS. Vital was formed in 1996 as a joint venture of TSYS and Visa U.S.A.; TSYS bought Visa's half of the business in March.
TSYS, of Columbus, Ga., expects to complete the consolidation by yearend. It will add new duties for all 1,200 customer service agents at contact centers in Tempe, Ariz.; Columbus; Alpharetta, Ga.; New York; and Barneveld, in the Netherlands.
BankAtlantic to Use Optima3 Image RPS
BankAtlantic Bancorp Inc. of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., has agreed to use image lockbox software from Wausau Financial Systems Inc. of Mosinee, Mo.
Wausau said last week that the Optima3 Image RPS software BankAtlantic will install for its retail and wholesale lockbox operations will speed up payment processing.
The banking company's current lockbox system "had limitations in processing OCR-scannable documents," said Anthony Gautney, a BankAtlantic senior vice president, in Wausau's press release. "That became one of the biggest challenges our sales consultants faced when developing new lockbox business," Mr. Gautney said. The Wausau image software "addresses this specific area."
