The Novato, Calif., vendor said Thursday that the $1.8 billion-asset City Bank would use its ClairMail System, which lets banks offer financial services through text mail, software that can be downloaded onto a mobile phone, or the browsers that are built in to many phones.

ClairMail says it is one of the few mobile banking software vendors that can support all three channels.

Cory Newsom, City Bank's president and chief executive, said in the ClairMail release that his company chose the vendor because of its "comprehensive" capabilities. "We are committed to staying in touch with our customers' needs and offering revolutionary products and services," he said.
