Texas Capital Hires Two for Small-Business Expansion

Texas Capital Bank in Dallas has recruited two executives to help it expand its small-business lending in Texas.

The $21 billion-asset bank said Monday that it had hired John Gannon as group manager of Small Business Administration lending and Clyde Thompson as credit officer.

Gannon was director of SBA lending at First United Bank in Durant, Okla., and before that worked at GE Capital and Bank of America, Texas Capital said. Thompson was chief operations officer and credit manager at CapitalSpring SBLC in Dallas.

With the hiring of Gannon, Texas Capital has two SBA lenders. It told American Banker that it plans to add three more by the end of the year to cover the market in Dallas, Houston, Fort Worth, San Antonio and Austin.

In March Texas Capital hired Brian Frank, former head of restaurant and franchise finance for TD Bank, to help expand its lending to national franchise-related businesses.
