Thrifts Raised $511 Million in Conversions

WASHINGTON -- Forty-three thrifts converting to the stock form of ownership raised $511.4 million through public offerings in the first three quarters of 1991, the Office of Thrift Supervision said.

In 1990, 69 thrifts converted and gained $774.4 million in tangible capital; 35 raised $351.4 million that way in 1989.
