TotalBank in Miami, Fla., has given President Luis de la Aguilera the additional job of chief executive.
De la Aguilera has served as president and chief marketing officer since 2009; he joined TotalBank in 2000 as an executive vice president.
He inherits the CEO title from Jorge Rossell, who will continue to chair the board of the $2.5 billion-asset bank. Rossell has been chairman since 2007.
"TotalBank remains one of the best capitalized banks in South Florida, and this has been evidenced by our continuous and balanced growth and sustained profitability," Rossell said in a press release Wednesday. "Since launching our business plan in January 2010, the bank has been led by an experienced and proven management team. This talented team has positioned us with a solid, safe and readily scalable platform for the near future which is why we have chosen Luis to assume the position of CEO."
The Miami bank also announced that Chief Credit Officer Benigno Pazos will join its board.
