Union Bank has lured two technology veterans from Bank of America (BAC).
The $88 billion-asset company based in San Francisco said Wednesday that Dana Edwards has joined the bank as chief technology officer while Meera Rao has joined as chief enterprise architect.
Edwards, who will lead Union Bank's information technology group, spent nearly nine years at Bank of America, where he held a series of technology posts in the company's banking, credit card, mortgage and sales areas. He previously was vice president of presentation services at Wachovia and worked as both a scientist and software developer for several companies and academic institutions.
Rao, who will oversee business, data, application and technical architecture, spent roughly a decade at Bank of America, where most recently she directed its image and transaction services architecture group. She previously was a senior systems engineer at Eontec and an information technology specialist at IBM.
"Our IT operations will be greatly enhanced by the addition of these two natural leaders," John Itokazu, Union Bank's chief information and operations officer, said in a news release. "We look forward to Dana's stewardship of Union Bank's information technology, and as we continue to grow the bank, Meera's wealth of industry experience and strategic vision will be a great asset."
Both Edwards and Rao will be based in Los Angeles.
