UnionBanCal Corp., a San Francisco unit of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group Inc., has announced the promotion of Rex Ramsey to vice president and senior wealth adviser in its private bank.
Based in the Inland Empire region of Southern California, Ramsey is to help wealthy clients with banking, investing, estate planning and trust services, the company said Thursday. In addition to the Inland Empire, he is to serve clients in the surrounding desert and mountain communities of Barstow, Apple Valley, Hesperia, Lake Arrowhead, Big Bear Lake and Blue Jay and the Coachella Valley cities of Palm Springs, Palm Desert, Indian Wells, La Quinta and Rancho Mirage.
Ramsey was a senior financial adviser in the Union Banc Investment Services subsidiary. Before that, he was a financial consultant for Fidelity Investments, providing affluent clients with managed accounts, mutual funds, life insurance, fixed-income securities and annuities.
UnionBanCal's private bank sells wealth management products and services to individuals, families and businesses.
The company had $68.7 billion of assets at March 31. It has 335 banking offices in California, Oregon and Washington and two international offices.
