U.S. Bancorp Hires Citi Exec for Treasury Management Job

U.S. Bancorp has named Citigroup executive Sayantan Chakraborty head of product management for its global treasury management business.

Chakraborty comes to the Minneapolis-based U.S. Bancorp after a 15-year career at Citi, where he was most recently a managing director in its treasury and trade solutions group. He previously held various leadership positions at Citi, including head of the North America payments business.

Chakraborty is also a former board member NACHA, and has been a longtime proponent of same-day ACH and real-time payments, according to a U.S. Bancorp news release Monday announcing the appointment.

"This is an exceptionally exciting period in treasury management, with major changes coming to the industry, driven by financial technology and customer demand for improved efficiencies and new solutions," Richard Erario, U.S. Bancorp's head of global treasury management, said in the release.

The company described the job as a new role that combines responsibilities from two previous positions. It did not say who held those jobs previously.
