The wireless carrier Smart Communications Inc. of the Philippines is working with Roamware Inc. to develop a money transfer system.

Roamware, a telecommunications technology vendor based in San Jose, said Sunday that the two companies would work together to make Smart's existing Smart Services Hub technology available to other carriers and banks worldwide. Roamware provides other applications to more than 350 wireless carriers in more than 130 countries.

Orlando B. Vea, Smart's chief wireless services adviser, said in a Roamware press release that his company is pleased to link its "network of bank and fulfillment partners with Roamware's global reach and technology to develop an alternative mobile remittance corridor."
