Software Earnings Inc. has announced the availability of remote-capture imaging software for consumers and small, home-based businesses.
The Memphis vendor said Monday that it had identified four target markets: low-volume businesses with geographic or dollar-value demand for the service; high-net-worth consumers; tradesmen; and multilevel marketing distributors, who typically sell products through the home-party business model.
Software Earnings, whose item-processing center software is used by 37 of the top 50 banks, made the announcement at a user conference in Destin, Fla.
The company said that banks can use its software to offer home remote-capture deposit services to customers using equipment they already have, such as flat-bed scanners or multifunction printers.
The software, First Touch iCaptureHD, lets people scan only the front of the check, and creates a virtual endorsement, either with a replication of the customers' "rubber stamp" or a scanned image of their signature.
