VeriFone Holdings Inc. needs more time to deliver financial detail to some of its creditors, because it is still conducting a review of its accounting.

The San Jose company said in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing Tuesday that it had amended its credit agreement and now has until April 30 to submit the financial information.

VeriFone said the data is for its fiscal 2008 first quarter, which ended Jan. 31, and its fiscal 2007 first, second, and third quarters and the year that ended Oct. 31, 2007, according to the filing.

Also, the company said the amendment waives any default or event of default that may result from its failure to meet SEC filing requirements, and related provisions of the credit pact in respect to its expected restatement.

In December, VeriFone Holdings said it would restate results for its fiscal 2007 first, second, and third quarters because of accounting errors related to in-transit inventory and allocation of manufacturing and distribution overhead to inventory.
